The sheltered, sandy beach, with easy access, is excellent for swimming. Kayaks are available and paddling around is a great way to explore neighbouring bays as well as the greater Kenepuru Sound.

Sailing or fishing can be arranged.

A must be is the climbing up to the Te Mahia Lookout, 417m high, just on the back of our property. It can be reached either choosing the rather steep goat track starting behind our house or via the QC-Track starting at the Mistletoe Bay turnoff, where the track meets the Kenepuru Road. Either way will take you up to a point were you afford panoramic 360 degree views over Kenepuru and Queen Charlotte Sounds - magic!

The Queen Charlotte Track passes nearby and lends itself to pleasant day walking or longer excursions and mountain biking.

Climbing Mt.Stokes, at 1203m the highest point in all the Sounds, could be another day hike. It's only three quarters of an hours drive away and on a nice day you would be rewarded with seemingly unlimited and unforgettable views of the Top of the South and the Lower North Island with the sparkling water ways of the Sounds just lying beneath you.

Leaving from either Picton or Havelock Marina throughout the week, the Mail Boat excursions take you on various all day trips to the outer Sounds. Stunning scenery and the occasional encounter with dolphins make this a worthwhile pastime.

Blenheim and the Wairau Plains, with all their well known wineries, are only a good hours drive away. Tasting their produce will keep you going all day long.
