The sunken valleys of the Marlborough Sounds are located in New Zealands sun belt, stretching across the Top of the South and the Southern end of the North Island. You can exspect to find sunshine here, if anywhere. We are situated in close proximity to the 41st Southern latitude, which compares to Madrid or Naples on the Northern hemisphere, with a Mediterranean climat - no extremes. It is the perfect spot, half way through your New Zealand journey, to put in a brake and recharge your batteries.
By road:
You will find our sign on your right along sealed Kenepuru Road, 22km from the intersection
with Queen Charlotte Drive at Linkwater. Linkwater is located about half way between Picton (23km) and Havelock (19km).
Look out for the Kenepuru Road Sign!
It takes us one hour to drive to Picton and Havelock we reach in 45 minutes.
By water taxi: The water taxi does the round trip from Picton several times a day. Phone The Cougar Line in Picton on (03) 573 8229, to enquire about fares and timings,and make bookings. We can provide complementary pick up from and drop off to Onahau Jetty in Waterfall Bay for our guests, so let us know when you will be arriving.
